It's Been a Whole Week?!

I can't believe it's been so long since my last update. I have been so busy with school it's unbelievable! I have still been crocheting though.

Kitten had a photo shoot with my updated "color wheel".

My shipment of Trogdor arrived so I can continue with The Baby Burninator!.

And he has a butt now! I'm going to play around a bit with the pattern I'm using, it doesn't look quit right...

Feetsies!

Trogdor has feet!

And my first attempt at barefoot sandals. So sad :(

There is only up to go from here!

Needs more hands.

School work has been interfering with my crochet project completion this week.

There was some progress on the granny scarf #1 front. It's at about 4' now.

Also, a change of plans for the Burninator baby blanket. I finally did the math, and sewing together 900+ squares at this rate would take approximately 6 months to complete, and the baby is due next month... So instead I will be keeping this one to sell in my Etsy shop, and starting a new one that is all one piece. :]

I also learned a new stitch! The Foundation Double Crochet is how I will be starting the new blanket.

The Baby Burninator!

Several months ago I was asked to make a Trogdor baby blanket for some friends. Since I have been so busy with these granny hats and other distractions, I am just getting started.

It's going to be awesome!

The Saga Continues...

While on our way to dinner last night, I got a call from one of my hat grannies with another order! She loved the hat I was wearing when I delivered the one I made for her:

Her neighbor wants one too!

I am also delivering another granny hat today. Black lattice, the camera on my phone had a hard time picking up the contrast, this hat is very dark black and very bright white!

I really need to start passing out business cards and order forms with these orders!

Projects as of 1/8/2012:

Hats, more hats and a beard!

Just like all other aspects of life, crochet adventures have distractions. The list of granny hats and scarves posted previously need to be completed, but those are boring. Crocheting the same lattice stitch over and over and over for days would make Jack a dull boy. So, to keep my hands sane, I have been throwing in side projects her and there. These are a few:

The yarn ordered from Joann's finally arrived for the Ginger beard I promised Christian. Thanks again Katie for this totally simple yet glorious pattern!

Finally got the colors for a hat and scarf a lucky Kelly Services employee won for the Shop For the Cure sale I participated in last month.

And finally, a hat for Adrian and Jenna's baby boy due in April.

Yes, it is another lattice hat, but it isn't purple and boring like the others. :D

Granny scarf! #1

Based on the honeycomb lattice cowl that is based on the original hat pattern, these scarves are a great match!

I've made and delivered two of these already, but for some reason I had to restart this one 4 times.

I also made this pretty flower!

I picked up the thread before Christmas for tree snowflakes, but didn't end up using it until now. It's much more durable than the first flower I made into this ring.

This thread is for these popcorns that were also for the Christmas tree.

They are super and tiny, and super cute, but a super pain to make. :/

Granny Hats

I made this nice hat for my friend Angel. Thinking it would be safe, she wore it to the Senior Fit Class she lead at church. She was then swarmed by old ladies asking where she got it, and how much it was.

She then started taking orders.

This is my journey:

As you can see, I have finished 3.5, and delivered 2 of the orders.

I will be making these hats for the rest of my life. :]

In the beginning...

My crochet adventures seem to be a thing of interest. Now that I have committed to keep up with my Etsy shop, I thought I'd also include the making of my projects. Stick around and watch them grow!
